Major risks in a hot venue
Heart rate, blood pressure and temperature can rise. Prolonged dancing in heat can compound overheating. Severe toxicity can include seizures and organ injury. Drinking water does not make MDMA safe.

Low mood can persist after use. Research on lasting cognitive effects is difficult to separate from other drug use and other factors; it does not establish recreational safety.

Medication concerns
MAOI antidepressants are a particularly dangerous combination: rapidly rising temperature can be fatal. Other serotonergic medicines and supplements need professional review. Do not stop prescribed treatment to facilitate recreational use.
